Our history
Here we take you on a journey through the history of our laboratory. Discover the decisive moments that have shaped us and made us what we are today and will be in the future.
Our testing laboratory was founded in 2008 and has grown steadily since then. We have modern and extensive testing equipment that enables us to analyse and test a wide range of materials and components. We are accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and offer more than 80 test methods that meet the highest quality standards. Our laboratory has a qualified and motivated team of materials testers, engineers and apprentices who are constantly upskilling themselves and taking on new challenges.
We are proud of our offerings and are pleased to offer you our services. Contact us for more information.
2008
In order to be able to carry out laboratory tests in-house and expedite technical development at Würth Industrie Service, the laboratory is founded in 2008, initially with three employees. Rooms in an administration building are converted and extended for this purpose. This included a room for preparing samples, a hardness tester and a 3D measuring machine at the start. The testing equipment and the number of employees was constantly expanded in the following years.
2011
- The laboratory is relocated to a building with more space. The new testing laboratory is opened with a tensile testing machine, pendulum impact testing machine, reflected light microscope, torque test bench, and a separate room for preparing samples
- The world's largest friction coefficient test bench for fasteners (up to M80) is purchased
2012
- The microstructure analysis is implemented on fasteners
- The testing spectrum is expanded to include material analysis using a spark spectrometer and a new 3D multi-sensor measuring machine is purchased
- Apprenticeship as a materials tester in metal technology is commenced
2014
- Fully automatic microhardness tester with a capacity of 16 samples per loading is purchased
2015
- The measuring room is set up with controlled temperature and humidity
- The macro hardness tester is purchased
- A room is set up and a device for salt spray testing is purchased
2016
- The entire building is now available for the laboratory
- The area expands to a total of 800 m²
2017
- Initial accreditation is carried out according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with more than 50 test methods, which may be accredited in the future
2018
- A zoom microscope is purchased for examining fracture appearance
2019
2020
- A sample preparation machine is purchased for consistent quality and increased productivity
- A 20 kN tensile testing machine with heating chamber is purchased
- Preparation is done for the purchase of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the associated expertise is developed
2021
- The scanning electron microscope (SEM) is purchased
2022
- The torque test bench is purchased for special applications on customer components
- An automatic cutting machine is purchased
- The tenth apprentice as materials tester in metal technology is recruited
- SEM analysis is offered as a testing service
2023
- Failure analysis process is introduced as a testing service (procedure according to VDI 3822)
- A replacement of 3D multi-sensor technology (tactile, optical, white light) is purchased with state-of-the-art technology
2024
- Extension of accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with now more than 80 test methods, which may be tested accredited in the future
